Prof. Dr. ir. Bert F. Sels elected to the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium for Science and the Arts.
In 2021, the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium for Science and the Arts (KVAB) announced 15 new members to its Classes. Prof. Dr. ir. Bert F. Sels was one of the four members elected to the Class of Natural Sciences on the 6th of December 2021.
The announcement on their website reads: 'The Academy has elected a number of outstanding new domestic and foreign members to its Classes over the past year. We would like to introduce them to you below. The festive inauguration will take place at the Public Meeting of the KVAB, adjourned to the spring of 2022.
Maarten Baes, Sarah De Saeger, Bert Sels and Ingrid Van Keilegom were elected as new members in the Natural Sciences Class.
In the Humanities Class, Jan De Houwer, Bart Eeckhout, Peter Van Deun and Ine Van Hoyweghen were elected as new members.
In the Arts Class, Hélène Dubois and Paul Vermeulen were elected as new members and Kurt Ryslavy as foreign members.
In the Technical Sciences Class, Lieve Helsen, Koenraad Debackere and Kris Verheyen were elected members and Pieter Abbeel as foreign members.'
